According to a report by Leadership, on Sunday April 26, 2026, Isaac Fayose, a Nigerian businessman and brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, has reacted to the recent visit of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to Ibadan, Oyo State.
The visit, which happened on Saturday, attracted attention across social media and political circles, Fayose used the opportunity to criticise Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, over his earlier comments about Obi and suggested that Igboho had previously opposed Obi’s visit to the city but was now proven wrong by the large turnout and warm reception Obi received in Ibadan.
Fayose called on people to draw Igboho’s attention to the video clips showing Obi’s visit and questioned why the reception looked positive despite earlier warnings or opposition from some quarters, he implied that the people of Oyo State welcomed Obi regardless of political tension or ethnic narratives.
Fayose used the moment to express his views on national politics, he criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), blaming the party for the economic hardship facing many Nigerians, according to him, many citizens are struggling due to rising cost of living and hunger across the country.
He went further to make a bold political prediction about the 2027 general elections, he claimed that the APC might struggle to secure significant votes if conditions remain the same and argued that even voters in the South-West may reconsider their support if economic issues continue.
“You people should help me tag Sunday Igboho on this video. I thought he said Peter Obi should not come to Ibadan? He was live in Oyo State today, and people were happy,” Fayose said…See More
