The Volume Pod recently included a video interview with Blessing Oladeji, a data strategist and public sector innovator from Nigeria. Oladeji discussed patterns in voter behaviour, coalition dynamics, and predictive election modelling in the run-up to the general elections in Nigeria in 2027.
They will have a victory margin of roughly 53% if Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are on the ballot, Oladeji said during the interview. While analysing how various political combinations could drastically change election results according to data-driven predictions, he made the comment.
He elaborated by saying that the prediction is based on statistical modelling that follows voter preferences across regions, demographics, and party affiliations, as well as nationwide survey sampling.
In his model, Oladeji said that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, two prominent politicians, could gain an overwhelming electoral advantage if they ran together.

He claims that in the past, possible opponents have been hampered by dispersed opposition votes, whereas united tickets have a tendency to consolidate support across many geopolitical zones.
Oladeji elaborated by saying that, although predictive data does provide useful insights, campaign tactics, voter participation, and unforeseen political occurrences still determine the results of actual elections.
Data analytics are becoming more important in Nigeria’s political landscape, he said, as more and more players use them to predict outcomes and influence campaign choices.
Finally, he emphasised that models can only predict possible results; on election day, the people will have the last say….See More
