I Told Wike When We Met,You Can’t Be The National Leader Of PDP, And Then Be Supporting Tinubu–Ulasi

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dan Ulasi, has raised concerns over the political position of Nyesom Wike, who is widely seen as a leading figure in the party.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Ulasi explained that he had earlier told Wike that it is confusing and unhelpful for someone considered a top leader in the PDP to openly support Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said the situation creates uncertainty within the party, especially since the PDP has not yet chosen its presidential candidate through its primaries. According to him, leadership requires clear direction, and supporting a rival party’s candidate sends mixed signals to members and supporters.

Ulasi also questioned what role Wike would play if another candidate eventually emerges as the PDP’s flflagbearerHe wondered whether Wike would fully participate in party activities such as conventions and rallies or shift his focus elsewhere.

The PDP chieftain made it clear that he is uncomfortable with what he described as a contradictory political stance. He added that he plans to raise the issue during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Ulasi warned that if the explanations given at the meeting are not convincing, he may take a stronger stand, stressing that he cannot be part of a process that lacks consistency or clear direction.
