According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday, April 1, 2026, Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, has stated that he received what he described as a divine message confirming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is under God’s special guidance and protection. He made this declaration during the commissioning and opening of the Eke Obinagu–Emene flyover, a key infrastructure project designed to reduce traffic congestion in the area, particularly as the Easter season approaches.
Speaking at the event, Umahi emphasized that the Southeast region is no longer sidelined in national governance, contrary to longstanding concerns of marginalization. According to him, the current administration has ensured that the region is well represented at the highest levels of government. He pointed to his own appointment as Minister of Works, as well as the inclusion of two individuals from the region in top military positions, as clear evidence of this renewed inclusion.
Umahi explained that his stance is not only political but also rooted in personal conviction, claiming that he has spiritually discerned that President Tinubu’s leadership is backed by divine support. “God made it clear to me that His powerful hands are upon the President,” he said, adding that the people of the Southeast must approach politics with wisdom and strategic thinking.
While acknowledging the long-term aspiration of the Southeast to produce a president of Nigeria, Umahi stressed the importance of supporting the current administration in the meantime. He revealed that many governors from the region are already aligned with Tinubu’s leadership and are working in cooperation with the federal government.
The minister also called on political leaders across the Southeast to be more outspoken in their support for the President. He urged them to actively engage with their communities and encourage citizens to back Tinubu, warning that silence or hesitation could be interpreted as a lack of commitment to the region’s collective progress.
According to Umahi, effective governance should be centered on tangible development, including infrastructure, fairness, equity, and justice. He encouraged the people of the Southeast to recognize the ongoing federal efforts in the region and remain optimistic about future opportunities and benefits under the current administration….See More
