Ben Shemang has offered a fresh perspective on the political situation surrounding Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, amid growing speculation about a possible defection to another political platform.
He spoke during an interview on Trust TV, where he examined the implications of reports suggesting that the governor may be considering a move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The discussion comes at a time of heightened political maneuvering and shifting alliances across the country.
Shemang linked the development to earlier tensions between Bala Mohammed and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. He suggested that the governor’s next political step may not be unconnected to the perceived seriousness of past threats and the evolving power dynamics.
He said: “Bala Mohammed who has been the only man standing when Wike was saying that he was going to send some missiles to Bauchi State and cause confusion there and ensure that he installs whoever he wants. Now, is it that Bala Mohammed has seen that Wike actually means it and therefore he wants to dodge a kind of political disgrace.”
