Sen. Jim Banks, a Republican from Indiana, defended President Donald Trump’s approach toward Iran, rejecting accusations that the administration failed to share key information.
Speaking during an appearance on The Ingraham Angle on Fox News, Banks argued that the former president acted decisively in response to what he described as a serious threat.
During the interview, Banks emphasized that the possibility of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons justified strong action. He maintained that the administration had been transparent and consistent in its warnings to Tehran prior to taking military steps. According to him, repeated signals were sent, making it clear that the United States would not tolerate further advancement of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
He said, “A nuclear weapon in Iran pointed at America. That’s the bottom line. President Trump was right to get involved here when he did. By the way, President Trump gave the Iranians dozens of notices. He drew a red line and told them, like 80 different times, ‘If you don’t give up the nuclear program, we’re going to bomb the hell out of you.’ And then he did it.”
