Tinubu Came 2nd In 19 States, He Didn’t Win Any NW States Even Katsina Where Buhari Came From- Oroh

In an interview on the State Affairs show with Edmund Obilo, Nigerian writer and democracy advocate Abdul Oroh shared his views on voting patterns and electoral outcomes in Nigeria.

He spoke about the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the election, noting variations in support across several states.

He also referenced the political influence of the late former president Muhammadu Buhari, especially in the North-West region.

Oroh said, “Tinubu came second in about 19 states. The fact that he did not win Lagos—he didn’t win any of the major North-West states apart from Jigawa—and even in Katsina State, where his predecessor Buhari came from, he didn’t win it.”

He explained that such outcomes highlight the complexity of Nigeria’s electoral landscape, where regional affiliations, political history, and party structures all play significant roles.
