According to a report by Leadership, on Tuesday March 10, 2026, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, questioning the achievements of the current government as political discussions around the 2027 elections continue.
Speaking during an interaction with supporters, Amaechi said Nigerians would naturally evaluate the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress before deciding how to vote in the next general election and argued that voters would likely ask what concrete projects or policies the government had delivered since coming into power.
Amaechi particularly raised concerns about the proposed Lagos–Calabar coastal highway project, he said the project had been widely discussed in public debates and government announcements, but he questioned its current progress, according to him, many citizens are still waiting to see visible results from the initiative.
The former minister said Nigerians expect major national projects to move beyond announcements and become tangible developments that people can see and benefit from and suggested that voters will pay attention to whether such projects are completed or remain promises.
Amaechi defended his own record while serving as transportation minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari, he stated that several projects were implemented during that period, especially in the transportation sector.
Amaechi maintained that the projects were visible and could be verified by the public, the former Rivers State governor therefore challenged the present administration to clearly show what it has achieved since taking office.
“Even if you want to vote for APC, the question you’ll ask yourself is what have they done? Okay? The noise was, Lagos-Calabar coastal road? Where is the Lagos-Calabar coastal road today? Let this government show one thing they have done, apart from stealing money,” Amaechi said…..See More
