I Called The Coordinator Of LTY, I Said, I Will Sack You Irrespective Of Who Brought You-Wike

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike spoke candidly during a media interaction, recounting a tense phone conversation with the coordinator of LTV. He said he personally called the official and warned that he would be removed from his position without delay, regardless of who facilitated his appointment.

According to Wike, he made it clear that his directive was final and not open to negotiation. He added that the coordinator was given four hours to comply, stressing that failure to do so would lead to immediate dismissal. The minister described the exchange as firm and direct, saying he wanted to ensure there was no misunderstanding about his expectations.

During the same media session, Wike turned his attention to the All Democratic Congress candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council, criticizing the candidate’s refusal to accept the outcome of the election. He described the reaction as an example of poor political sportsmanship and urged politicians to respect the democratic process.

Wike also addressed internal issues within his own party, the Peoples Democratic Party. He blamed the party’s current leadership for what he characterized as organizational decline and weak electoral performance in recent contests. He contrasted the present leadership with what he described as a previous era of stronger coordination and discipline, which he said produced better results.

According to Wike, under the leadership of Bala, the party’s structure had deteriorated, leading to reduced influence and fewer positions at different levels of government. He concluded by reiterating his concerns about party discipline, electoral integrity, and the need for stronger leadership.
