If Iran refuses to make a deal with the United States, all available force will be used—Grossi

According to the Iranian News network report, on Thursday February 25, 2026, Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has issued a caution regarding the potential for military intervention should diplomatic resolution fail to materialize between the United States and Iran concerning the nuclear issue.

In an exclusive interview with Colombian broadcaster RTVC Noticias, Mr. Grossi emphasized the paramount importance of dialogue in mitigating further regional instability, highlighting the IAEA’s pivotal role in fostering verifiable solutions to persistent proliferation challenges.

“The overarching message is that achieving an agreement to prevent additional disruption, casualties, and instability in the region remains attainable,” Mr. Grossi affirmed. He underscored that the primary objective is to ensure “Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons through any means other than violence,” positioning a negotiated settlement as the sole responsible approach to resolving the crisis and upholding international stability.

Mr. Grossi conveyed significant apprehension regarding the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Iran’s enriched uranium reserves. He disclosed that the IAEA has been unable to recommence inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities since the conflict last year, a development that escalates risks despite not indicating weaponization. Such a monitoring void, he cautioned, “has the potential to precipitate critical decisions” and necessitates immediate attention through the restoration of access and transparency.

These statements were made subsequent to Mr. Grossi’s official visit to Colombia and prior to crucial discussions in Geneva. As indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran intensify, his intervention reinforces the IAEA’s advocacy for constructive engagement to avert escalation and re-establish confidence in the global non-proliferation framework….See More
