They’re Planning a Selection, but the Difference This Time Is Tinubu Doesn’t Want to Rig It’—Sowore

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and former presidential candidate, has alleged that preparations ahead of future elections suggest manipulation rather than a transparent democratic process. In a video posted by Symphoni, Sowore spoke about what he described as emerging political strategies following the recent Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.

He argued that developments around the polls indicate a pattern he believes could extend to the 2027 general elections. Sowore stated that, in his view, what is being planned goes beyond a conventional electoral contest.

According to him, “I have made it very clear, just as I said in 2023, they’re not planning an election; they’re planning a selection, but the difference this time is that Tinubu doesn’t want to rig the election the way they rigged it in 2023. That was too brazen, so they want to rig it beforehand. So there will be a lot of scenarios put in place, and what they did in the FCT, if you calculate properly, is a rehearsal of what will happen in 2027.”

Sowore expressed the view that the conduct of the FCT elections should be closely examined, as he believes it reflects broader political strategies ahead of the next general election cycle. He maintained that electoral integrity remains a major concern and urged citizens to remain vigilant as political activities intensify toward 2027…. Discover More News
