Former Kaduna central senatorial district lawmaker and renowned human rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his official X handle to react after it was announced that a paltry sum of thirty six million naira was released to the health sector in 2025. According to his statements, he pointed out that the finance minister must fully respond.
Many were left stunned after the announcement that a paltry sum of thirty six million naira, released to the health sector went viral across various social media platforms.
This came amid the raised eyebrows from different quarters that the health sector was underfunded, and basic health care non-existent.
Reacting, Senator Shehu Sani, a renowned human rights activist and former federal lawmaker in a recent statement, however, pointed out that the finance minister has questions to answer.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, the respected lawmaker pointed out that the report, if confirmed, was unfortunate.
He described it as a lack of seriousness in the health sector and hence, the minister for finance must fully respond and explain why the health sector was underfunded.
These were the words of Senator Shehu Sani which he shared on his official X handle;
“If it’s confirmed that only N36 million was released for the health sector in 2025 then it’s unfortunate and a demonstration of lack of seriousness in the health sector. The finance minister needs to fully respond to this.” He wrote.
