According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he disclosed that the Miyetti Allah leader admitted to his crimes.
The news regarding the apprehension of a Miyetti Allah leader identified as Idris Abubakar by security operatives in Kwara State generated mixed reactions from different quarters after the reports surfaced online.
Idris Abubakar, the 60-year-old man was apprehended alongside several others for sponsoring bandits, a group responsible for unleashing mayhem on innocent civilians, and causing severe damages.
This was contained in a recent post by Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, who made the disclosure on his official X handle on Thursday, January 29th 2026.
According to his statements, Mr Idris Abubakar admitted to his crimes which also included amongst several others, aiding and abetting kidnappings perpetrated by armed Fulani groups.
He further disclosed that the security operatives who apprehended the Miyetti Allah leader, lamented over his actions as they believed that an elderly man should be propagating peace and not involving in violence.
The apprehension of the Miyetti Allah leader and his accomplices, which sparked massive public debate, indicated the need to quickly identify and prosecute those responsible for disturbing the peace of the people.
