Fubara Reacts To Claim He Lost To Wike’s Candidate In Rivers Primaries Because He Supported ADC

According to a report that was published on the official X account of ARISE NEWS on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara has reacted to claim that he supported African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidates in the primary elections in Rivers state.

This came after aspirants loyal to the former governor of Rivers state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike won the All Progressives Congress, APC tickets during the primaries.

Reacting, Siminalayi Fubara stated that he didn’t support candidates of the African Democratic Congress, ADC in the primaries. The Rivers state governor said before the primaries, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu instructed them to support the candidates of the FCT Minister.

According to ARISE NEWS, the governor of Rivers state said that;

“So if these candidates are members of the APC and we are all members of the same party, how can I be supporting the candidates of another political party?”.
