Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission has taken to his official X handle to voice his displeasure over the lack of concerns shown by those in positions of power. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that nearly all important officials were in London at a time when the people needed them most.
The news regarding the deadly attack by bandits in Maiduguri, Borno State which led to the loss of several innocent lives generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.
The incident, which triggered massive public debate, was widely condemned. However, Chidi Odinkalu, a respected human rights activist in a recent statement, decried over the lack of concerns shown by those saddled with the responsibility to protect the people.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that after the bomb blast, over one hundred and eight persons were injured, while twenty three persons lost their lives.
