Hon. Adamu Aliyu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed concerns over a possible political alliance between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, stating that the ruling party is unbothered by such a development.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Aliyu expressed confidence in the APC’s political strength ahead of future elections, insisting that any coalition between opposition figures would not pose a serious threat to the party’s dominance.

During the interview, Aliyu was emphatic about the APC’s position, even suggesting that the party would welcome a joint ticket involving the two prominent opposition leaders. “In fact we are praying may they come together. May Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi come together. There are certain things I’m not going to say on air,” he said.

Aliyu’s remarks come amid ongoing speculations about potential alliances within Nigeria’s opposition as political actors begin early permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
