Who Believe That Yoruba Would Be Better Off Without Contributions From Other Parts — Obidigbo
According to Vanguard, elder statesman and former governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Dr. Chike Obidigbo, has condemned the #Igbomustgo campaign in Lagos, attributing it to the misguided views of a few Yoruba ethnic bigots. He called on President Bola Tinubu to address the issue, emphasizing that it threatens the nation’s peaceful coexistence.
Speaking in Awka, Obidigbo highlighted that those pushing for the ejection of the Igbo from Lagos are fueling unnecessary hatred and must be checked. He described the agitation as increasingly clear, loud, and threatening, without meaningful official reprimand or security intervention.
Obidigbo expressed concern that President Tinubu is surrounded by ethnic bigots and political riffraff who mistakenly believe the Yoruba would benefit from excluding citizens from other parts of Nigeria. He urged a cooperative approach to governance, emphasizing that the success of any administration depends on collaboration with allies from diverse backgrounds.
He said, “It is very unfortunate that President Bola Tinubu has become surrounded by ethnic bigots and political riffraff, who believe that Yoruba would be better off without the contributions of citizens from other parts of Nigeria, probably ignorant of the fact that the success of any administration must be rooted in cooperation and collaboration with allies from other camps.
