When Jonathan Wanted To Remove Fuel Subsidy, The Soyinkas Of This World Occupied Streets-Sunday Oibe

According to Elder Sunday Oibe, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), North-West Zone, Wole Soyinka and numerous other well-known Nigerians objected to the removal of fuel subsidies, which was the desire of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Sunday Oibe made this claim in an exclusive interview, according to The Sun.
Human rights advocate and seasoned statesman Wole Soyinka was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature many years ago.
Sunday Oibe, who is also the General Secretary, CAN in the 19 northern states said; “Nigerians are not crying that the subsidy has been removed. Nigerians are not angry that the subsidy has been removed, the timing was wrong”
He added; “when Jonathan wanted to remove fuel subsidy, the Soyinkas of this world occupied streets. If it was implemented that time, we will not be here talking about what we are talking about right now. So I am not against fuel subsidy removal, but I am against the timing”
The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), North-West Zone, Elder Sunday Oibe stated further; “The timing was wrong. You have taken over power, the first thing that comes to your mind is that the subsidy is gone. And you did not put any palliative in place to cushion the effect.”
Many Nigerians have responded to the recent comment made by Elder Sunday Oibe, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), North-West Zone, which was published via The Sun on its verified Twitter page….Sēe Moré
