We Are Ready: NNPC Opens New Filling Station for Nigerians To Buy Fuel Priced At N200 [Full Details]

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has taken a significant step towards providing affordable and cleaner energy for Nigerians with the launch of a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling station in Lagos.

The station, which is a partnership between NNPC and Transit Gas Nigeria Limited (TGNL), offers CNG at a competitive price of N200 per standard cubic foot.

With a plant capacity of 5.2 million standard cubic feet, the facility is expected to serve a large number of vehicles daily, estimated at over 3,700 cars and 600 trucks.

This development is a welcome relief for many Nigerians who have been struggling with the high cost of fuel and the environmental impact of petroleum-powered vehicles.

The use of CNG vehicles is being promoted by the President Tinubu’s administration as a viable alternative to petrol-powered vehicles.

CNG is a cleaner-burning fuel that emits less CO2 than petrol, making it a more environmentally friendly option. Additionally, CNG is a more cost-effective fuel, which will provide significant savings for vehicle owners.

The facility includes a compression plant and a dispensing outlet, allowing CNG vehicle owners to refuel easily.

The station is well-equipped with modern facilities and trained staff to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.

The NNPC has plans to open more CNG stations across the country, with six additional mother and service stations planned for the six geopolitical zones.

This expansion plan is expected to create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on petroleum products.

The launch of the CNG filling station is a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards a more sustainable energy future.
