Tinubu: If His Vehicle Or Plane Is Bad, We’ll Approve Money For The Repair – Godswill Akpabio

The Senate has reiterated that, should the necessity arise, it will approve the purchase of a presidential jet regardless of preemptive blackmail attempts from certain directions.

During the plenary session on Thursday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio addressed rumors circulating on social media regarding his previous remarks on the subject and reaffirmed the Senate’s position.

Punch reported that Akpabio stated that the welfare of Nigerians is the Senate’s first priority and that they will support bills that raise the standard of living for Nigerians.

However, he also recognized the need to help the president fulfill his responsibilities, which include taking care of his automobile and aircraft. He said that if repairs or replacements are required, the Senate will take into consideration authorizing funding.

Prior to this, the Senate leader expressed worries about propaganda from “fifth columnists” who were disseminating false information on the Senate’s position on the presidential jet.

Akpabio gave assurances that the Senate is accountable and will put the interests of the nation first. Although there’s no request to approve the purchase of a presidential jet at the moment, Akpabio stated that the Senate will take the matter up if it becomes necessary.

In his words, “We will approve things that would improve the living standards of the people. At the same time, we will also take cognizance of the duties of the President.”

“If his vehicle is bad, we will repair it. If his plane is bad, we will approve money for the repair of the plane. So that is not an issue. There is nothing before us. I don’t think you should worry about it….. Check Other Article
