Starting Tomorrow, Unless Former Governor Fayose Apologizes To Our People – Arewa Youth

According to the report from the Vanguard, The Arewa Youth Assembly has criticized former Governor Ayodele Fayose for remarks deemed offensive to Northerners, leading to calls for protests across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a live interview on Channels TV, Fayose suggested that the federal government’s inability to develop Nigeria was due to the high birth rates among Northerners. “The reason why it is difficult for Tinubu to develop Nigeria is because Northerners are giving birth to children they can’t cater for,” he said.

The Arewa Youth Assembly has condemned this statement as an insult and a conspiracy against the North. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Mohammed Salihu Danlami, Speaker of the Assembly, labeled Fayose as an “enemy of the North” and urged Northerners to join protests starting the next day unless Fayose issues an apology.

Danlami emphasized, “We have also declared him (Fayose) an enemy of the North. For record purposes, after Allah, we can say without any doubt that we were instrumental to the emergence of Tinubu as APC Presidential candidate and his victory in the Presidential election.”

He further stated, “Since protesting is our constitutional right, I am calling on all Northerners to come out and join the protest in all the 19 Northern states and FCT Abuja starting tomorrow, unless former Governor Fayose apologizes to our people.”
