A fire broke out at the headquarters of the Christ Embassy Church, located in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, on Sunday morning, causing alarm among church members and local residents.

The incident was first disclosed by a church member using the handle Bass_fenty on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The member posted images and videos of the fire, which quickly went viral, attracting significant attention and concern.

In the videos, thick plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from the building, while flames engulfed parts of the structure. The Lagos State Fire Service arrived promptly on the scene and were seen in the footage making concerted efforts to contain and extinguish the blaze to prevent it from spreading further.

The quick response of the Lagos State Fire Service was crucial in managing the situation. Firefighters worked diligently to bring the fire under control, using multiple fire engines and equipment. Their efforts were focused on stopping the fire from escalating and causing more extensive damage to the church property and surrounding buildings.

Eyewitnesses praised the firefighters for their bravery and swift action. “The fire service did a commendable job,” said a local resident. “They arrived quickly and worked tirelessly to put out the fire.”

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Investigations are ongoing to determine what sparked the blaze. There is speculation among some church members and locals, but authorities have not yet provided an official statement regarding the origin of the fire.
