Rivers Crisis: Rivers State Is At War, The Governor Is Helpless, The Police Is Helpless – Okocha
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency, citing a “full-blown war” in the region. I call on the federal government to act fast in this regard.”
The call for drastic measures comes amid an escalating political crisis revolving around the tenure of the chairmen of the 23 local government areas in the state. Chief Okocha emphasized that immediate intervention is crucial to prevent further deterioration of the situation, which he warned could have significant repercussions for the national economy due to Rivers State’s strategic importance.

The former chairmen were reportedly aligned with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who is currently embroiled in a political conflict with Governor Fubara.
Okocha cautioned that allowing the crisis to escalate unchecked would inevitably impact Nigeria’s economy, given Rivers State’s crucial role in the nation’s economic landscape…..See More
