Police: We’ve Arrested Ahmed Taylor For Producing Russian Flags Distributed To Young Nigerians

The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of Ahmed Taylor, a mass producer of Russian flags used by protesters in Kano State.

Additionally, at least 30 protesters carrying the flags have been taken into custody.

According to the report by Daily Trust on Monday, Police Spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed this at a press briefing organized by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters.

The arrests came as the #EndBadGovernance protest entered its fifth day on Monday, with protesters wielding Russian flags and chanting slogans in major cities like Kano and Kaduna.

Adejobi said that flying foreign flags in Nigeria is a criminal offence, and those arrested, including their sponsors, will face charges according to the law.

He stated, “To carry the flags of a foreign country on a land is a criminal offence. We have them arrested.

“Just this morning, we have arrested one ‘Ahmed Taylor’ from Nasarawa Local Government area of Kano state, for producing a large quantity of Russian flags given to young Nigerians to go and fly.”

Speaking further, he said that the police are profiling him to identify other sponsors.

He revealed that similar arrests have been made in Kaduna.

In addition, Adejobi confirmed that 30 protesters with Russian flags were arrested as the briefing commenced.

He said, “We are profiling him. We want to get other sponsors like him. As I speak with you, the same thing has happened in Kaduna. This, as we started this briefing, we’ve been able to arrest 30 of them with same Russian flags…..See_More
