Planned Protest: You’ll Meet The Strongest Resistance Of Your Lives —Tinubu’s Aide Tells Protesters

The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has said that those planning to protest against the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government would meet the strongest resistance of their lives.

The presidential aide, who stated this in a post via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, however, explained that the resistance would not be mounted by security agencies but by the silent majority who voted to elect President Tinubu.

He wrote:

“Those who want to burn the country down under whatever guise will meet the strongest resistance of their lives. Not from security agencies, but from the silent majority that gave their mandate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for four years in the first instance. We are waiting.”

Olusegun’s comment, is however perceived as a threat by many Nigerians, especially on social media, who are in support of the planned nationwide protests against the current economic hardship they are confronted with day to day.

Meanwhile, human rights organization, Amnesty International, in its reaction to Olusegun’s post, warned that threatening intended peaceful protesters is unlawful.
