In a recent address, the National Progressive Coalition (NPC) issued a stern warning about the dangers of uncoordinated protests, highlighting that no nation in the world can withstand such actions without risking chaos. This caution comes at a critical time for Nigeria, which is currently facing numerous challenges that require careful and constructive solutions.

The NPC emphasised that while the government is doing its utmost to address the pressing issues facing the country, it is crucial for citizens to show understanding, cooperation, and support to foster good governance. “No nation in the world can stand an uncoordinated protest that will plunge the nation into chaos,” the NPC stated, underscoring the potentially devastating impact of disorderly demonstrations.

“Nigeria is experiencing a series of challenges which the government is doing its very best to address. We must give our maximum understanding, cooperation, support, and solidarity to promote good governance,” the NPC added. The organisation stressed that constructive engagement and dialogue are essential for overcoming the nation’s difficulties and achieving sustainable progress.

Reflecting on the negative outcomes of protests in other countries, the NPC highlighted, “Series of protests that went wrong are too numerous to mention, from Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Libya, and the ongoing situation in Kenya. We must be aware of the importance of the safety of lives and properties of our citizens.” This statement serves as a stark reminder of the potential risks associated with uncontrolled protests and the need to prioritise public safety.
