In a recent report from the Channels News, the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose asserted that hunger has been an ongoing issue in Nigeria for an extended period, tracing its origins back to the time when protests demanded the removal of former President Goodluck Jonathan from office.
He noted that despite President Buhari’s subsequent eight-year tenure, the problem of hunger persisted, with few publicly voicing dissent or organizing rallies to express dissatisfaction.
He emphasized that no government can claim to be perfect or address all of a nation’s issues, underscoring the complexity of governance and the need for continued efforts to tackle pressing challenges such as hunger.
He said, “Hunger didn’t start one day. This hunger started a long time ago. That was why they had a rally at a time and said: ‘Jonathan must go’. (President Goodluck) Jonathan left.
