It’s A Mockery Of Rule Of Law If A High Court Judge Ignores The Judgement Of The S’court—Femi Falana

Renowned lawyer Femi Falana has cautioned that disregarding Supreme Court judgements by lower courts is a mockery of the rule of law. In an Arise TV interview, Falana emphasised that high court judges ignoring or overruling Supreme Court decisions undermines the hierarchy of courts and the legal system’s integrity.

He highlighted the specific issue of Federal High Courts assuming jurisdiction over human rights matters related to traditional leadership deposition or reinstatement, despite Supreme Court precedents. Falana stressed the importance of judicial hierarchy and adherence to Supreme Court decisions to maintain the rule of law and prevent chaos in the legal system.
