According to Vanguard, the Self Reliance for Physically Challenged Traders of Nigeria has issued a strong warning against the proposed nationwide protest scheduled for August 1, 2024, targeting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a statement released on July 22, 2024, the group’s National Chairman, Comrade Munnir Shehu, expressed deep concerns about the potential consequences of such demonstrations.

Shehu emphasized the group’s belief that the planned protests pose a significant threat to Nigeria’s stability, unity, and progress. He warned that such actions could potentially plunge the country into chaos, drawing parallels to the destabilization seen in other nations experiencing similar unrest.
