Be Patient. I’ll Be Older. I Want To Rest In Conducive Atmosphere – Oluremi Tinubu Begs Protesters

Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, urged citizens to reconsider the protests scheduled for August 1-10, stating that the administration is tirelessly working to improve the country.

Speaking at a quarterly meeting of the Renewed Hope Initiative in Abuja, she highlighted the lingering effects of the EndSARS protests and encouraged the youth to be proactive and creative in seizing opportunities within Nigeria.

Punch reported that Mrs. Tinubu appealed for patience from the protest organizers, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to creating a better future. She noted that the protests, tagged #EndBadGovernance, could disrupt the lives of those already facing challenges.

Quoting her, “I will appeal to them to be patient. We didn’t come here playing. We came here to work because I know we will leave this place one day, and I want to go to a Nigeria that will not be a burden to me.”

“I’ll be much older, and I want to make sure that I rest in a very conducive and nice atmosphere. And that’s what we’re doing.”

“They (protesters) shouldn’t obstruct all those people who depend on their daily living. So I appeal to them, and I pray they’ll see reasons.”
