Change What You Teach Your Kids,’ Condoleezza Rice Tells Palestinians Looking For A State

Former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has urged Palestinians to reform the way they educate their children if they aspire to establish a lasting and peaceful state.

Speaking on CBS 24/7 alongside fellow former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Rice said that without a change in mindset, Gaza would struggle to achieve true self-governance.

“Change the lessons that you teach your kids about the state of Israel,” Rice said.

“Don’t create another generation of Palestinians who believe that resistance is the path to peace and security.”

According to Jerusalem Post, the emphasized that the future of Gaza depends on nurturing a new generation focused on coexistence rather than conflict.

Rice expressed doubts about the Palestinian Authority’s ability to evolve under its aging leadership, suggesting it was time for younger Palestinians—especially those with international experience—to take on greater political roles.

“It is really time to move on to a new generation of leadership,” she added.

Clinton, while agreeing with Rice, noted that Israel also had a role to play in creating conditions for peace.

She called on the Israeli government to halt settlement expansion in the West Bank, arguing that it undermines the message of a genuine commitment to a two-state solution.

Both former diplomats praised the recently signed Gaza peace deal but warned that challenges remain.

Clinton cautioned that Hamas might still seek to retain influence through intimidation and hidden weapons.

Rice, meanwhile, urged the international community to cut off external funding—especially from Iran—that could help Hamas rebuild militarily.

Despite their cautious optimism, Rice and Clinton agreed that progress toward peace would require patience, international support, and a fundamental change in how both Palestinians and Israelis view the path forward. See, More, Here>>>>
