Like men, women have wants and preferences; there are characteristics of males that they find endearing and those that drive them crazy. If we’re serious about lowering the prevalence of divorce and broken households in our society, we need to pay attention to all of these.
This essay was inspired by my realization that women’s preferences are often ignored, and it is my hope that by doing so, I might shed some light on the qualities that women find attractive in men but may be reluctant to openly discuss. Here are four characteristics of males that women find attractive but may not express openly.
1: Laughter
This is the first quality that women find attractive in a man but may be reluctant to express. If you’re observant, you’ve probably noticed that women gravitate toward men with a great sense of humor, regardless of the man’s physical attractiveness or strength of physique. In general, women have a lot on their minds: people who have wronged them, things they have to do, people they need to contact, clients they need to serve, etc. Women appreciate a man’s sense of humor because he helps them relieve stress. Men have a lot going on in their heads and often need time to just laugh and get some things off their chest.
2 Accountability
This is another quality that women like in men but may be too modest to express openly. Women tend to judge a man’s maturity and independence based on his ability to provide for himself materially (via homeownership, transportation, employment, and financial stability), as well as socially (through his circle of successful friends). The ability to demonstrate responsibility is highly valued by women.
3. Autonomy
